Pranith, Executive Director/Founder of BachpanBanaoPranith founded BachpanBanao in 2012 with the vision to create just, equal, free and harmonious society. BachpanBanao has been working in Dantewada district of Chhattisgarh which is known for its rich tribal culture and biodiversity. As a founder and executive director, he is responsible for empowering parents, community members, teachers, and education functionaries. As a strategic partner to the administration, he played a key role in designing programs like PadheDantewada-likheDantewada, ChooloAsman, ShikshaSamarthan, Ujar-100 to successfully improve learning outcomes in the distict. Pranith’s journey started when he was studying BS-MS at Indian institute of Science Education and Research (IISER), Pune. During the course, he cofounded Disha, a student-run organization that conducted evening learning centers in nearby slums. Disha was important milestone in his journey. It helped him discover his passion for education ultimately forcing him to drop out of college to start working with community. Going further in this educational quest, he started two alternative schools ‘Sapnokishala’,Chhattisgarh- school for tribal children and ‘Samata School’, Kurnool (AP)- a school for urban privileged children. Both schools are democratic learning centers where children are responsible for their own learning. Pranith is passionate about organization building, group facilitation, and building leadership skills. He recently established Netritvasadhna, the center of leadership development at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. He is also a part of various sustainable development and education networks. His talks are reality-driven. He has participated as a spokesperson in various conferences; to name a few, recently participated in India conference organised by Harvard University as a panelist on education, National Conference on Social innovations-2016, International Democratic Education Conference, Israel 2017 and VicharvedSammelan 2018.
